Archith Seshadri’s Yoga Journey

3 years ago, on a whim, I walked into a Core Power Yoga studio in Buckhead (since I was near Bhojanic and Roots Juices). I started with just a few classes a week because I wasn’t sure if yoga was my flow (assuming it would be slow and not as intense).

2 years ago, in the thick of the pandemic, I resumed classes daily wearing two masks and pushing myself with the added challenge.

1 year ago, I applied for a BIPOC teacher training scholarship and got it on my second attempt (reinforcing that you should never give up)!

Last month, I finished my 200 hour training hours and 1000 practice hours and auditioned to be a yoga teacher at Core Power Yoga.

Yesterday, I taught my first class at the very studio I started at 3 years ago. Actually, my first two classes — with the universe throwing a curve ball (or a sign) and had me sub in for another teacher who called out! The best compliment was when someone said “I thought this was your 100th class and not your first!”

I hope this inspires you to chase after your dreams, stay focused, be determined, have patience and chart your course! Thank you to all my teachers, coaches, and fellow yoga instructors and students who believed in me and helped me through this beautiful journey! It’s made me a better human being and I am excited for the road ahead.

Your class was so good! I am so impressed and humbled by you constantly. I love how you work super hard in the area you choose to focus and become your best possible version in that area.  Your alignment cues were on point, the flow was very good incorporating Sanskrit. The breathing techniques were nicely incorporated. I loved the intention setting at the beginning and tying in the personal story at the end.” — Khanjan (Kuki) Gandhi (RYT-200 Lift Yoga Teacher)

“Hands down the best yoga teacher with the most upbeat energy in Atlanta! Thank you for a beautiful yoga class as always, Archith. The enthusiasm and positive energy Archith brings as a teacher to every class is contagious and inspiring. He has a deep knowledge of body anatomy, yoga history and Indian culture that he weaves into every pose, creating a nurturing and safe environment in class. I love how he weaves in yoga philosophy whether in the form of myths or teaching us Sanskrit to help us feel more present in class. His teachings have helped deepen my own practice and increased my curiosity to learn more. Archith is an approachable and articulate instructor who always provides attention to detail, techniques to improve flexibility and positive encouragement to try challenging poses! His classes are a beautiful combination of building strength, balance and awareness. I always leave his class feeling alive, refreshed and strong — ready to take on my day! I highly recommend his class to anyone who wants to feel better in and outside of yoga class. — Karishma Thawani (RYT-200 CPY Yoga Teacher)”
